Privacy

The short version: this website doesn't use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking, and it has no accounts or forms. The only personal data we handle is what's described below.

Who we are

This website is run by THE MIXED ESTATE LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 17507629. Registered office: 35 Oakfield Gardens, Beckenham, BR3 3AY, United Kingdom. We are the controller of any personal data described on this page. You can contact us at contact@themixedestate.com.

What we collect, and why

Server logs

Like any website, our web server automatically records each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser's user agent, and the response code. We use this to keep the site running, fix faults and spot abuse. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and working). We keep these logs for 30 days and then delete them. We don't use them to profile or identify individual visitors.

Emails you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to people who contact us), or taking steps at your request if you are asking about something we do. We keep emails only as long as needed for the conversation and any follow-up, and then delete them. Our email is hosted by Microsoft, who process it on our behalf.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site doesn't set cookies and doesn't use local storage, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, advertising or analytics tools, so there is nothing to consent to or opt out of. If that changes, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

YouTube and other third parties

The home page shows thumbnails of our latest videos, which are loaded from YouTube's image servers (Google). When your browser loads them, Google receives your IP address and browser details in the same way as for any image on any site. We don't embed YouTube players. Links to our YouTube channel and our other social media take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies, and we don't control what they do with your data.

Sharing your data

We don't sell your data or use it for marketing. We share it only with the service providers mentioned above, where they need it to run our email and website, or where the law requires it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask for it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email us at the address above. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us at contact@themixedestate.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and let you know the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
